The DWA/CVWD Interconnection No. 2 is a physical connection between Desert Water Agency's (DWA) and Coachella Valley Water District's (CVWD) public water systems, allowing us to share water during outages, contamination events, or natural disasters. This project enhances system reliability, redundancy, and fire protection by leveraging, for example, the neighboring system’s storage or pressure when one system's supply is unavailable. This will support both agencies’ abilities during major incidences and unexpected complications.
